Third bank robbery from unarmed individual -- Frederick, MD

A man believed to be involved in a robbery and an attempted robbery last week has struck again, according to the Frederick Police Department.

The PNC Bank on West Patrick Street was robbed shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Jason Keckler said.

The same heavy-set white man in his 30s with a beard and mustache is believed to have robbed the PNC Bank on West Seventh Street on Feb. 2. He also tried to rob the BB&T bank on Rosemont Avenue on Feb. 1, but left before getting any cash.

No one was injured in any of the three robberies and no weapon was ever displayed, Keckler said. The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash in the PNC robberies. Police did not release details of the exchange between the suspect and the tellers.

On Tuesday, the robber was wearing a dark zippered jacket and a red Washington Nationals baseball cap.

The first two robberies happened about noon, while this one was two hours later, Keckler said. The robber wore a white baseball cap last week.
