BROCKTON — Investigators are trying to determine who threw two homemade bombs described by authorities as "molotov cocktails" through the window of a Brockton Roman Catholic church over the weekend.
Officials tell The Enterprise of Brockton that the devices were tossed through an open window of St. Edith Stein church, possibly on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
No injuries were reported.
Church workers discovered two broken beer bottles stuffed with paper towels and what appeared to be gasoline at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The workers called the fire department.
Fire officials say there were some scorch marks on the floor of the church, but no serious damage.
