Penn State. PA: After Game Riot

Sunday’s damage occurred after an alcohol-soaked crowd of about 4,000 quickly filled the 300 block of East Beaver Avenue known as “The Canyon” for its high-rise apartment buildings.

Violence erupted from 10 to 15 minutes of raucous chanting. Individuals tore down two light poles and street signs, tossed bottles and other objects from balconies and uprooted trees and shrubs, setting some on fire. Five cars, including a police cruiser, were vandalized. No injuries were reported.

Police responded with pepper spray but did not arrest anyone.

“There are things that can be done in advance to try to encourage people to behave civilly, within the law, and still have a good time.”

There are also things that can be done in advance to try to encourage people to behave unruly, against the grain and continue having a good time.

The college mayor calls them "nitwits" because "stupid" would just be stooping to their level... He also said that being "suspended and sentenced to either jail or community service" are “life-affecting penalties”...!

students should follow words from their alma mater: “May no act of ours bring shame.”

Comment 6140.104: I wonder how the investigation of the police investigating the police will come out.

"Once again the student body at large has proven it is not capable of acting like adults."

Yeah right, adults don't riot.

the police had every right to use their guns.
