Murrieta, CA: Arsonist Burns Down Office Building

The two-alarm blaze that destroyed a Murrieta office building has been deemed arson.

Investigators found signs that an accelerant, such as gasoline, was used to set the fire.

The fire was reported at 8 p.m. Monday at Washington Avenue and Kalmia Street in Murrieta's Historic Downtown district.

Flames burned rapidly, consuming the 14,500-square foot building, which was still being constructed, according to authorities.

The building was valued at about $2.8 million.
