Boston, MA: Boston Herald Sabotaged

Vandals slashed conveyor belts and cut wires on sorting machines at the Boston Herald.

A manager at the daily newspaper discovered the vandalism at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The machines had last been inspected at about 3:30 p.m.

15 conveyor belts and six sorting machines were damaged. No security cameras were filming the vandalized area.

In June, the Herald announced plans to lay off 130 to 160 workers and outsource its printing operations.
